The Ocracoke School

There is only one school in Ocracoke.  It is PreK-12th grade.  The motto of the school is "Be Flexible," and they are! The students learn to adapt and be self-sufficient.  Classes are small, and teachers take advantage of local opportunities to learn hands-on science and history.  No one "slips through the cracks."  The entire community makes it their business to instruct the kids.  The Ocracoke School is a North Carolina School of Excellence with a grade of "A".
